FAVORITISM

(H&M Top, J.Crew Shorts, Sam Edelman Sandles, B.P. Nordstrom Headband, Miscellaneous Bracelets
In case it was not already obvious, I am a fan of neutral colors. Secretly I am a fan of all colors but my closet is filled with mainly neutral ones. This week it went from cold and rainy to summer, and I decided to celebrate with some summery neutral (surprise) tones and a peach color to add to the happy factor of my outfit. I live in these shorts during the summer because they are my most interesting shorts, and also maybe the only ones that did not used to be jeans in a past life.

BALLERINA

(Uni Qlo Blazer, Forever 21 Shirt, Zara Jeans, Steve Madden Flats, Gap Bag)
Chicago keeps surprising me with its weather, and I was unfairly cold in this outfit. I admit I did steal these pants from Isabelle for the night, and they are excellent. Maybe I should invest in my own pair. I like the girly touches like the pale pink pants, and simple black ballet flats which make me look preppy and girly. Sometimes it's fun to pretend to be a boarding school girl for the night.

RED AND WHITE

(H&M Top, Zara Jeans, Forever 21 Necklace, Born Oxfords, ULTA Nail Color, Miscellaneous Bracelets and Rings)
Red and white can look Christmassy to me. But then I don't really like red and black together, not sure why but it looks... just not as white as white and red. So then I paired my red pants and white t-shirt with my trusty old oxfords and my hair down and natural. I'm not sure if this actually looks springy or if it's the gorgeous lavender and sunlight that make it look like spring.

NEUTRALLY ADDICTED

(Target Shirt, Nordstrom BP Pants, Steve Madden Ballet Flats, Gifted Necklace, DIY Necklace, Miscellaneous Bracelets and Rings)
If this is not already obvious, Isabelle and I love neutrals. Like sweaters, it is an unfortunate addiction. In this outfit I am complying to the addiction. So much neutral. The only pop of color arrives from my neon high lighter nail polish. Maybe we should work on this, or maybe not.

COMFY COZY ARE WE

(H&M Sweater, Target Shorts, Born Oxfords, DIY Necklace, Miscellaneous Bracelets and Rings)
Why Isabelle and I are constantly purchasing and collecting sweaters, I have no idea. Maybe we like bringing down the sleeves over our hands and acting comfy cozy. Or maybe some other reason, who knows. This sweater is so soft and comfy, and sometimes that's the best thing to be paired with shorts and tights. My obsession with stripes, it just never ends.

AND I REALIZE

(H&M Henley T-Shirt, American Eagle Denim Shirt, Miss Sixty Skirt via Marshalls, Born Oxfords, Old Navy Earrings, Pop Nail Color in Mandarine, Miscellaneous Bracelets and Rings)
Isabelle and I have an addiction to denim shirts apparently. Maybe it's just that they seem to go with everything? Or maybe we just think they go with everything. They even go with my Isabelle proclaimed "Katniss" hair. This took about five minutes, two simple french braids and a lot (I mean a lot) of bobby pins. I think I will be doing this again because it kept my (unruly) hair out of my face for an entire day. Which meant a good day.

WANNABE TREE CLIMBER

(H&M T-Shirt and Blazer, American Eagle Jeans, Sam Edelman Flats, DIY Necklace, Usual Bracelets and Rings)
I think maybe I was/am a freak of nature. Reason being that I was never really into climbing trees when I was little. I was definitely more of a swinger and a runner and jumper. Not a tree climber. Maybe it was the heights, or maybe it was the fact that I never have been (or will be able to) lift my self nimbly up trees. So here I sit, underneath a tree, as opposed to in one. But if I were to maybe try to climb a tree, I would do it in these jeans, since they are my absolute favorites.

SHE IS A STRANGER

(J.Crew Tank, Zara Jeans, Vintage circa 1980 Earrings, VANELi Wedges via Nordstrom Rack, My usual random bracelets and rings)
We took these pictures a while ago in the days of Faux-Summer. Now it has returned to the normal cold and I will no longer be able to wear sleeveless shirts. My whole monochromatic thing here is definitely not something I would usually wear unless it's black or grey. I like the change. Change is good, right?

THE LIGHT CONQUERS THE DARK

(American Eagle Cardigan, J.Crew T-Shirt, Target Shorts, Kohls Belt, Hue Tights, Sam Edelman Shoes, Forever 21 Necklaces and Sunglasses)
I didn't realize how dark this outfit was until I was getting dressed. The navy and the grey and black, and I was fine with looking ominous. Until I got outside. Where it was sunny and warm and happy (but not entirely warm). So for a change, the happiness of the outdoors conquered the darkness of my Maybe I am a true blonde after all.

STRIPES AND SOLIDS

(Gap Sweater, Forever 21 Skirt, Born Oxfords, Francesca's Earrings, Vintage Rings and Bracelets)
Surprise, suprise, I am wearing neutrals yet again. It seems as though it's becoming my trademark. I did however buy a neon green sweater (more sweaters) that may inspire me to be more colorful now that the weather is brightening up. Hopefully some hot pink will pop up against these brick walls sometime soon.
