THE LIGHT CONQUERS THE DARK

(American Eagle Cardigan, J.Crew T-Shirt, Target Shorts, Kohls Belt, Hue Tights, Sam Edelman Shoes, Forever 21 Necklaces and Sunglasses)
I didn't realize how dark this outfit was until I was getting dressed. The navy and the grey and black, and I was fine with looking ominous. Until I got outside. Where it was sunny and warm and happy (but not entirely warm). So for a change, the happiness of the outdoors conquered the darkness of my Maybe I am a true blonde after all.

CLOVER FIELD

(Vintage Lord&Taylor Sweater, Zara Jeans, Betsey Johson Shoes, Nordstrom B.P. Blet, Vintage Earrings)
I feel like Dorothy in these pictures. This type of picturesque blue sky and green field is not common in Chicago. I must be in Oz. Some ruby red slippers would be nice for Spring. Maybe some will pop up unexpectedly tomorrow to go with all this shimmer I seem to be wearing lately. I'm turning into a sparkle queen. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet, to be quite honest. Where is my leather jacket?

STRIPES AND SOLIDS

(Gap Sweater, Forever 21 Skirt, Born Oxfords, Francesca's Earrings, Vintage Rings and Bracelets)
Surprise, suprise, I am wearing neutrals yet again. It seems as though it's becoming my trademark. I did however buy a neon green sweater (more sweaters) that may inspire me to be more colorful now that the weather is brightening up. Hopefully some hot pink will pop up against these brick walls sometime soon.

GOLDEN LAYERS

(Miss London Jacket via Ragstock, Gap Top, Vintage Agnés B. Skirt, Betsey Johson Shoes, Garnet Hill, H&M, and Forever 21 Necklaces)
Please ignore the fact that I am awkwardly standing in the middle of some ivies. My English teacher was rounding the corner, and we were forced to hide from his line of fire. Staging photoshoots during lunch periods, miraculously, does not always work in our favor. We manage to get enough shots without causing a stampede, which is perfectly fine with both Liv, me, and, most definitely, the school administration.

SOME DAYS IT'S FUN TO

(Urban Outfitter's Sweater, Target Shorts, Shoes via Nordstrom Rack, Vintage Scarf and Bracelets and Rings, Forever 21 Necklace)
Some days it's fun to tame my hair with a scarf which doubles as a headband. Some days it's fun to look like an indie music loving teenager. Some days it's fun to be an indie music loving teenager. And some days it's a lot of fun to clonk around the city in some clonking shoes. Some days it's just fun to change it up.

LACE-UP

(H&M Top, Zara Jeans, MIA Shoes via DSW,  Nordstrom B.P. Necklace, Francesca's Collections Sunglasses)
It seems as though we have skipped Spring in Chicago. It's been at least 70 degrees all week, and I am trying my absolute hardest to hold on to my sweaters as long as possible. This one is thin enough to breathe in without passing out from heatstroke. I got all dolled up in it to head to The Hunger Games midnight premiere yesterday. I highly recommend it. Hopefully this heat wave will die down soon, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

SPINNING ROUND AND ROUND

(American Eagle Denim Shirt, Urban Outfitter's Dress, Steve Madden Flats, Akira Headband)
If I were to describe my style, it would land somewhere between preppy, girly, edgy, menswear-y, vintage-y, and classic. So in other words, it's not really definable. Something that is definable however, is my undeniable love of twirly skirts. I love spinning around in them and pretending I am once again five years old.

AIN'T NO SUNSHINE WHEN SHE'S GONE

(Soprano Dress via Nordstrom Rack, Forever 21 Sunglasses, Sam Edelman Sandals, Vintage Rings and Watch and Bracelets and Necklace)
Florida was in short, warm and humid and tropical and beautiful... not all that different from Chicago right now (minus the tropical). Back home it's hot and I believe still March, not July. I missed Isabelle and her loud and loving humor. It's always nice to get away, but coming back home is inexplicably satisfying.

ANCHORS

(Delia's T-Shirt, Zara Pants and Belt, Betsey Johnson Shoes, Aldo Necklace, Urban Outfitters Rings )
Liv comes back to Chicago from Florida today, which means she'll finally pop back up in pictures and my week of solo blogging will end. As much fun as this was, I now am a hundred percent sure that blogging is a thousand times better with Liv than it is alone. She's one of the only people I can work well with without losing my mind. All I can say is, two heads are definitely better than one.
