CLOVER FIELD

(Vintage Lord&Taylor Sweater, Zara Jeans, Betsey Johson Shoes, Nordstrom B.P. Blet, Vintage Earrings)
I feel like Dorothy in these pictures. This type of picturesque blue sky and green field is not common in Chicago. I must be in Oz. Some ruby red slippers would be nice for Spring. Maybe some will pop up unexpectedly tomorrow to go with all this shimmer I seem to be wearing lately. I'm turning into a sparkle queen. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet, to be quite honest. Where is my leather jacket?

SOME DAYS IT'S FUN TO

(Urban Outfitter's Sweater, Target Shorts, Shoes via Nordstrom Rack, Vintage Scarf and Bracelets and Rings, Forever 21 Necklace)
Some days it's fun to tame my hair with a scarf which doubles as a headband. Some days it's fun to look like an indie music loving teenager. Some days it's fun to be an indie music loving teenager. And some days it's a lot of fun to clonk around the city in some clonking shoes. Some days it's just fun to change it up.

LACE-UP

(H&M Top, Zara Jeans, MIA Shoes via DSW,  Nordstrom B.P. Necklace, Francesca's Collections Sunglasses)
It seems as though we have skipped Spring in Chicago. It's been at least 70 degrees all week, and I am trying my absolute hardest to hold on to my sweaters as long as possible. This one is thin enough to breathe in without passing out from heatstroke. I got all dolled up in it to head to The Hunger Games midnight premiere yesterday. I highly recommend it. Hopefully this heat wave will die down soon, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

BABY YOU SHINE BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN

(Velvet Sweater, Jolt Jeans, Bloch Flats, Helen Ficalora Necklace)
This week has started with a Jonas Brothers throwback and a whole season of Parks and Rec to watch. Yes, my sophomore Spring break has been a rager. Don't tell my parents. The best I could do to jazz it up was to throw on an obnoxious amount of sequins and hope for the best. Meanwhile, Liv is jetsetting off to Florida to return sunkissed and refreshed, while two of my others friends are partying in the greatest city in the world (don't argue with me on my love for New York City). I, on the other hand, have been left in charge of blog redesign. Please bear with me.
You can follow me on Pinterest now, too. Happy blogging!

SPRING!

(Zara Sweater, Miss Sixty Skirt, Forever 21 Necklace, Urban Outfitters and Guess Rings, Gifted Earrings from my Nana)
Look! No tights! Sunlight has found its way back to Chicago, which means we can all finally come out of hibernation and get on with our lives. Maybe we'll finally bring out some bright colors instead of these morose hues of black and blue. Spring break couldn't have come at a better time.
Sorry for no post yesterday; Liv and I are both sick. :(

PRINTS GO BAM

(Velvet Cardigan, H.I.P Tank, Eight Sixty Skirt, Hue Tights, Steve Madden Flats, Urban Outfitters Rings
I love the print and color of this shirt mainly because they're loud and I'm, well, loud. I think that fashion and style should let someone's personality shine through. It's a great way of letting people know what they're in for. For example, when I wear this shirt, the librarian likes to send me on my merry way before I can get three (very audible and quite loud) words in.

Fire Drill Photo Op

(Gap Sweater, Standard and Practice Jeans, Born Oxfords, Forever 21 Beads, Handmade bracelets and rings)

School likes to interrupt the most interesting classes with a fire drill, resulting in us outside in the freezing cold. And, with absolutely nothing to do but to wait, we figured we would take pictures! Again, you see my oxfords, really I promise I have a lot more shoes than this... a lot. I just really really love these shoes. Another fetish of mine besides these overly worn oxfords? Zippers. I just adore a good exposed zipper, like on this classic sweater.

A Little Bit of Print

(Urban Outfitters dress, Velvet cardigan, Nordstrom belt, Betsey Johnson shoes, Francesca's Collections earrings)
I absolutely love this dress. The perfect fit, gorgeous print, and soft fabric make it an essential. I splurged on it last spring while shopping downtown with friends, hoping that it would pay for itself by becoming a staple in my closet. It did. I wear this all year long, using different accessories to make it season appropriate. Wintertime calls for layers, layers, layers! Otherwise known as thick tights and lots of cashmere.

Feature: Grace

(J.H Collectibles sweater, Aritzia skirt, Topshop shoes, Tiffany & Co. necklace)

Our gorgeous friend Grace showed up looking like everything we love: preppy, edgy and colorful. Once we laid eyes on her outfit, it came to us: features. In the future, we will be featuring people we see at school rocking their casual attire, or just on the street looking exceptionally excellent. Grace is our lucky first official feature, absolutely and positively working her navy blue rib-knit, hot pink pleats, and floral Mary Janes (so adorable we cannot even handle it).

WHITE, SILVER, AND GOLD

(Nordstrom Sweater, Nordstrom Jeans, Sam Edelman ballet flats, J.Crew Tshirt, Nordstrom Necklace, Handmade Rings, Vintage Tiffany&Co Mini Hoop Earrings.)
Knit sweaters are fortunately on trend at the moment. Unfortunately, this particular knit is holey and lets air seep onto my arms. But then again, I absolutely adore sweaters, and this chunky, knit, open sweater is a perfect holiday addition to my mainly monochromatic closet. I never really understood girls who are allll about sparkles and pretty things, and here I am, like a common hypocrite, smiling in my gold sparkly sweater. But you know what, I like sparkles and I like shining like the winter snow before it turns to slush the next day.
