SHE IS A STRANGER

(J.Crew Tank, Zara Jeans, Vintage circa 1980 Earrings, VANELi Wedges via Nordstrom Rack, My usual random bracelets and rings)
We took these pictures a while ago in the days of Faux-Summer. Now it has returned to the normal cold and I will no longer be able to wear sleeveless shirts. My whole monochromatic thing here is definitely not something I would usually wear unless it's black or grey. I like the change. Change is good, right?

TEDDY BEAR

(BDG. Sweaterdress, Lily White Skirt, Jason Wu for Target Cardigan, Hue Tights, Aldo Booties, Tiffany & Co. Charm
March is finally here, thank God, which means this may be the last you see of thick tights and piles of sweaters. But, knowing Chicago (and my unnecessary hoard of sweaters), it's probably a long shot. Seems fit that I would pile two sweaters one on top of another for this post. Hopefully, the leaves will turn green soon, and I won't have to write the word 'sweater' four times in one post.
Also, how do you like the blog redesign? We're working on fixing up Blues and Shoes a little, so bear with us if anything looks a little odd. ;)

CHANDELIER

(Vintage tank, Jolt Jeans, BCBG Generation Flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses, H&M Hairclip)
I like sparkly things, much like a small child. My friends like to believe I simply like the stares from everyone on the El. They would be mistaken. I prefer to look like a glowing 20's flapper girl because stealing my mother's vintage shirts makes her irritated, naturally. And the icing on the cake is going sleeveless in February, but, no worries, the white attracts the sun.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Yes, we know, we're not exactly bloggers of the year. The issue with supply and demand of posts will be resolved as soon as possible, we promise! Here, we are starting fresh, with the hopeful promise of regular posts and smiles. We love all of our devoted readers for sticking with us through these homework/term paper/winter times. And, on the subject of love...
Happy Valentine's Day!

Tulle Hardware

(Coat via Marshalls, Restoration Hardware Scarf, Zara Jeans, Banana Republic T-Shirt, Old Navy Cardigan, Boots via DSW)

These jeans I saw at Zara when I was about shopping with my mother on Black Friday. She decided to purchase them for me as a Christmas gift which meant I had to wait a month until I received (forgot about) them. I like these pants. I also like that this is January. It is fifty degrees outside and sunny. I do not like how it is messing with my head. Or maybe it's just my excuse for the seasonably lazy winter time.

The New Yorker

(Zara Coat, Top, and Jeans, Aldo Booties, Forever 21 Necklace, Vintage Earrings)
January in Chicago means weekly snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, which make it difficult to stay warm enough to function. Luckily, the world has puffer jackets. I absolutely love this one because it's incredibly warm without adding bulk. This top adds a great pop of color to an otherwise gray and white outfit and sporting a little New Yorker love never hurt anyone, right?

Silky Sheer

(Urban Outfitters Tee, Jolt Jeans, Betsey Johnson Shoes, Forever 21 Necklace, Nordstrom, Forever 21, and dElia's bracelets)

This is one of my absolute favorite shirts. I love that it's casual yet elegant with the mix of fabrics and colors. These jeans also add the perfect pop of color to the monochromatic palette of grays and blacks (which is basically my closet). I couldn't live without them!

RED JEANS AND STERLING RINGS

(Zara Sweater, Jolt Jeans, Aldo Boots, Guess Ring, Bracelet from p.45)
I love these deep red jeans so much that I simply can't get enough of them. Surprisingly, they manage to go with almost everything in my closet at the moment and add a great pop of color to any outfit. I spent yesterday afternoon ogling the Christmas windows at Macy's while shopping for gifts for everyone on my list. Red and white definitely remind me of the holiday season!
