Doubles: Skate Skate

Ice skating. Apparently Liv's 30 year old ice skates still work. Apparently Isabelle's untrained ankles still don't like to ice skate very well. But at least she can still pose on the ice. This time, Isabelle managed to not drag Liv down to the treacherous ice. The ice gives a convenient time to discuss life and the meaning of the world and just general problems in our lives. We highly recommend it.

Tulle Hardware

(Coat via Marshalls, Restoration Hardware Scarf, Zara Jeans, Banana Republic T-Shirt, Old Navy Cardigan, Boots via DSW)

These jeans I saw at Zara when I was about shopping with my mother on Black Friday. She decided to purchase them for me as a Christmas gift which meant I had to wait a month until I received (forgot about) them. I like these pants. I also like that this is January. It is fifty degrees outside and sunny. I do not like how it is messing with my head. Or maybe it's just my excuse for the seasonably lazy winter time.

The New Yorker

(Zara Coat, Top, and Jeans, Aldo Booties, Forever 21 Necklace, Vintage Earrings)
January in Chicago means weekly snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, which make it difficult to stay warm enough to function. Luckily, the world has puffer jackets. I absolutely love this one because it's incredibly warm without adding bulk. This top adds a great pop of color to an otherwise gray and white outfit and sporting a little New Yorker love never hurt anyone, right?

BLACK AND WHITE

(American Eagle top, Banana Republic belt, Jolt jeans, Betsey Johnson shoes, dElia's coat)
It snowed today.  Looks like my days of cuffed jeans, short sleeves, and sockless feet are over. Time to brave our hoarder's basement and bring out the marshmallow puffer coats! So, here's an homage to those brisk fall days, all decked out in stripes and my favorite oxfords. Get ready for a truckload of sweaters!

DOUBLE TROUBLE: WINTER COATS

(Liv: Miss Sixty Coat, Steve Madden Flats, Scarf stolen from her mother's closet; Isabelle: dElia's coat, Aldo Boots, Jolt jeans)
Chicago likes to confuse us with sunny days and freezing temperatures. Luckily we know how to outsmart it. These are the black wool coats that every true Chicagoan has in his/her closet. The wool keeps us warm in the brisk temperatures but not warm enough to keep the snow from leaking through the wool.  Now that it's December, here comes winter: time to start baking gingerbread men and looking for the perfect Christmas tree.
